Why do we always single out immigrants from Mexico? If we are completely honest with ourselves, we’re probably not that concerned about immigrants from Europe or even Asia. The new immigration law SB 1070 passed in Arizona was directed only at immigrants from Mexico and no one else. That’s why it will lead to racial profiling. I’m sorry but that’s the truth. They’re not looking for immigrants from Canada in Arizona. If you have darker skin and speak Spanish, people begin asking questions. So let’s stop running around the truth and man up to our prejudices.  Northern states like Wisconsin are not going to follow Arizona in passing similar legislation because there is no reason to. This is why all immigration policy must be determined by the federal government.
