It’s a publicly owned station that plays an expansive array of music, the envy of any radio station claiming to have actual “variety.” They play exotic world music, indie rock, Milwaukee originals, hip-hop and music from the 70s and beyond. It has something for almost everyone, except for tweens looking to hear Justin Bieber or Jonas Brothers. Listening to this station, you will definitely grow your musical knowledge allowing you to brag to all your friends about bands they’ve never heard of. Bragging aside, you expand your horizons and open you up to move beyond Billboard rubbish. 

Aside from the music, 88NINE is a perfect way to keep up on all the latest entertainment opportunities happening in Milwaukee. They have ticket giveaways for local concerts on an almost daily basis. In addition, they also sponsor popular local businesses (Whiskey Bar, Beans and Barley) and events so you can stay busy during the weekend. It’s the perfect way to feel and stay connected to Milwaukee.
